In my experience, life has a habit of posing questions. Some of these are easy. For example,'What is your favourite biscuit?' Custard cream, obviously. 'Favourite place?' Yorkshire: having been born there, how could it be anywhere else? Some questions are, however, more difficult. 'What is your favourite branch of mathematics?', for example.
