Imagine glass so thin and flexible it can be used to wrap food, but so strong that it withstands more pressure than steel. Or imagine a pollution-free glass battery with an endless life and with up to 30 times more energy than a conventional lead-acid battery of the same size and weight. And imagine a car engine block made of glass, requiring no lubrication and no cooling. These are among the hundreds of possible uses a team of American and Russian scientists envision for a glass-like material they have patented under the trademark "Dynaglass".
