California-based Oorja Protonics has launched its new Model 3 direct methanol fuel cell system, which brings productivity improvements for mobile power applications. The Oorja Model 3 fuel cell system operates as an onboard battery charger for a variety of materials handling applications, such as electric Class 3 forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts, or other mobile applications such as light towers or mobile power for the military. Oorja has also recently announced its new Model T-1 fuel cell system, to provide a 'green' backup power solution for cellular telecom towers [see page 5].
