German naval ship and submarine builder thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) unveiled its 4th Generation Fuel Cell (FC4G) for submarine applications at the recent SubCon submarine conference in Kiel, after completing an extensive test programme with more than 70 000 operating hours in the real-world environment.
