Alstom wins order for fleet of 27 fuel cell trains in Taunus region

French train builder Alstom has won the tender for 27 fuel cell powered trains issued by fahma GmbH, the vehicle management subsidiary of Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund (RMV), the public transport network for the Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan area in Germany [see also page 3]. When the trains enter service in 2022/2023 they will form the world's largest fleet of fuel cell trains.
