BP Agrees to Acquire Unconventional Oil and Gas Assets From BHP for $10.5 Billion

BP America Production Co. announced July 26, that it has agreed to acquire unconventional oil and gas assets from BHP Billiton Petroleum Inc. by acquiring 100% of the issued share capital of BHP’s wholly-owned subsidiary Petrohawk Energy Corp., which holds the assets, for a total consideration of $10.5 billion, subject to customary closing conditions. BP expects to complete the transaction by the end of October 2018.
