Gallop Poll Depicts Split and Partisan National Opinion of Americans on 'Fracking'

A Gallop Poll report (authored by Art Swift) found that Americans are split on support for fracking in oil and natural gas production operations. In brief, 40% of respondents polled support fracking; 40% oppose it. Older Americans favor fracking more, while younger Americans are opposed by a large majority. Republicans solidly support fracking, but support from Democrats is low. A substantial 19% of Americans surveyed do not have an opinion at all on fracking.
