DOE Authorizes LNG Exports to Non-FTA Countries from Driftwood, Port Arthur Projects

The Department of Energy on May 2 authorized Tellurian’s Driftwood LNG project and Sempra Energy’s Port Arthur LNG project to export LNG to countries that do not have a free trade agreement (FTA) with the U.S. Both projects, designed with a capacity to export roughly 4 Bcf/d and 2 Bcf/d, respectively, were approved by FERC in April.
