It is now beyond any reasonable doubt that the release of C02 into the atmosphere, strongly linked to economic activity, is leading to climate change in its many manifestations, with serious impacts on planet, society and the economy.Decarbonisation of economic activities such as manufacturing and construction is the only answer; and various governments around the world have put in place strategies to pursue a low-carbon pathway. The UK Government was the first major economy to put in place zero carbon laws, with the stated intention to bring all greenhouse gas emissions to net zero by 2050. But how will this be achieved?
