Implications The logit-log model shows high potential to be used as model of choice in simple portable equipmentallowing quick, in situ, evaluation of horse fitness.Introduction Post-exercise heart rate (HR) recovery has been used as an indicator of fitness, due to the positive correlationbetween recovery and overall physical performance of individuals (e.g. Bitshnau et al., 2010). Several studies havedemonstrated the relationship between quicker recovery and better performance (e.g. Hagberg et al., 1980).
