SPEAKING at a sustainability session during the 2014 Grain Elevator & Processing Society Exchange, Mark Eastham, manager of sustainability for Wal-Mart Stores Inc., said the company is currently collaborating with an organization called The Sustainability Consortium to address better fertilizer optimization in agriculture.Additionally, he said the company is planning to research animal feed and the role it plays in the overall sustainability vision for Walmart and the products it sells.According to Eastham, with the company's size comes great responsibility, and roughly 90% of Walmart's impact as a company — its sustainability footprint — is from the products it sells.
