The temperament of an animal can be seen by the way it reacts to an unfamiliar or challenging situation. It is a combination of the animal's inherent disposition and how it has been handled or trained during its life. While training can improve how an animal behaves, there will always be an element of inherent reaction which handling cannot overcome.
