The method involves finding whether a vehicle is in a dangerous rolling dynamic situation, and finding whether a reduction of a vehicle speed (S1) leads to a reduction of dangerousness of the situation. Performance of an accelerator pedal is influenced, in presence of the dangerous situation and if the reduction of speed results in the reduction of dangerousness of the situation. An independent claim is also included for a device to influence performance of an accelerator pedal of a motor vehicle.
