Research conducted by the National Centre for Farmer Health (NCFH), found Australian farmers are at greater risk of high blood pressure compared to the general population.NCFH AgriSafe clinician Tarn Phillips said farmers tend to have high incidences of lifestyle risk factors for high blood pressure such as being overweight or obese, having abdominal obesity, psychological distress and a higher prevalence of short-term, high-risk alcohol consumption.
