Producers with lower than expected lambing percentages are being encouraged to look closely at the sub clover in their pastures to rule out the possibility of old cultivars which may be high in oestrogens as a cause of the problem.University of Western Australia (UWA) Associate Professor Megan Ryan said that continued exposure to high-oestrogen sub clover cultivars could have serious and long-term impacts for grazing sheep."The impacts can include temporary infertility and, if grazing occurs for prolonged periods of time, permanent infertility," Megan said.
