Albany-based research scientist for DPIRD, Glenn McDonald says that like any soil amendment process, deep ripping test strips are an essential litmus test for a paddock. He recommends running test strips the equivalent width of two harvester fronts so any benefit (or impact) can be easily measured with an up and back run in the harvester before unloading.
