Global ferrous slag production in 2016 was estimated at nearly 524Mt, with a growth of less than 1% in volume compared to 2015. Global production of ferrous slag in 2017 is estimated to have been more than 531Mt, of which nearly 67% is of blast furnace slag. The value of global ferrous slag production in 2017 is estimated at US$20.3bn, of which more than 91% is blast furnace slag.
