During the course of the modernisation of HeidelbergCements Burglengenfeld plant, two 2000t/day production lines from the 1970s were concentrated into a single line with a capacity of 4000t/day to reduce operating costs. The investment costs were further reduced by reusing peripheral equipment from the pre-existing lines. This included raw meal silos, the kiln feed to the existing preheater locations, upgraded gas conditioning towers as well as electrostatic filters for dedusting the cooler.
