A survey of Jersey heifer calf rearing practices among UK dairy farmers

Implications A wide range of systems are being used by farmers rearing Jersey heifer calves on UK dairy farms. Thefindings of the survey indicate that mortality rates to weaning are within acceptable limits. However, there may beopportunities to improve current rearing practices by knowledge transfer.
