On summer Saturday evenings and special occasions, the Charlie RussellChew Choo dinner train takes customers on a 56-mile round trip excursion on the Central Montana Railroad. The line, originally the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific, runs from east of Lew-istown, MT to Great Falls, MT and was built through Fergus and Judith Basin counties past Arrow Creek, MT in 1914.The Chew Choo leaves the boarding station northwest of Lewistown and goes west to Denton, MT. It does not extend to Arrow Creek just a few miles farther west. To some people, Arrow Creek might be a nostalgic destination, but it is not very scenic, sincethe 1935 Arrow Creek grain elevator truck shed roof, walls, and doors are lying in the grass on the south side of the tracks. Sometimes oil and railcars that are no longer used are parked on the tracks.
