Kuraray to establish butadiene derivatives JV in Thailand

JAPAN: Kuraray Co.Ltd,PTT Global Chemical PCL of Bangkok and Sumitomo Corp.are to invest in a project for the manufacture and supply of butadiene derivatives in Thailand,Kuraray announced 27 Dec.The decision to proceed with the project,through a three-way joint venture company called Kuraray CC Advanced Materials Co.Ltd,follows a two-year feasibility study into the proje.Kuraray GC Advanced Materials will be based within the petrochemicals area of the WHA Eastern Industrial Estate,Map Ta Phut,Rayong province.The JV will establish capacities of 16,000 tonnes/year(t/ yr) for hydrogenated stryenic block copolymers,and 1 3,000 t/yr for polyamide 9T.
