The Metalworking Fluids Committee had a very successful meeting that was well attended with over 46 members. The agenda was approved by the committee, Vice Chair Catherine Golden, and Secretary Ann Ball. The committee invited ILMA mem- bers to participate in the NAM fly-in, June 2-3, in Washington, DC, to have an opportunity to meet with Congressmen and Senators to discuss issues that impact our business. )ohn Howell discussed the importance of the proper identification of chemical salts in formulation and the efforts needed in order to properly classify theses salts. ILMA has agreed to support the testing of several water soluble salts common to the metalworking industry for skin, eye irritation and oral acute toxicity to provide test data, suitable for classification, for chemical salt combinations listed in TSCA.
