摘要

We thank Tamburin and Zanette for their valuable comments to our article. Before addressing the four points raised, we would like to emphasize that our study does not rebut the presence of a generalized somatosensory impairment in patients with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS). Even though traditional quantitative sensory testing (QST) revealed normal thresholds, our patient population demonstrated elevated pain ratings outside the median nerve territory during thermal stimulation. This was interpreted as an early indication of central mechanisms (Schmid etal., 2011).
