The UK charity, PRIME: Partnerships in International Medical Education, has spread whole person medicine and whole person teaching to healthcare professionals on five continents. This paper summarizes interviews of four key PRIME leaders to capture PRIME'S early history and that of its predecessor, Doctors' Dilemmas. Decisions leading to PRIME'S expansion include to (1) be Spirit led, (2) model PRIME on biblical values and Jesus's example, (3) serve only when invited, (4) make its material freely available, (5) build on successes, (6) partner with students to sow the seeds of future change, (7) persevere when initial response is small, (8) model the whole person approach in behavior and teaching, (9) pass on a vision to international colleagues to improve medical education and compassionate whole person care, (10) train colleagues to train others, and (11) seek a local champion to spread the vision and organization in their nation.
