Many independent lubricant manufacturers thrive by filling the needs of niche markets.One such market - which a number of independents have indeed found - is railroad engine oil (RREO).Once seen as a dying industry,railroads today are thriving economically and moving record levels of freight (including ethanol,coal,and inter-modal) throughout North America.Mergers and acquisitions in Canada,Mexico and the U.S.during the past decade have enabled some railroads to offer true scheduled service,while all have improved services throughout their networks.This is now a rapidly-changing industry.
