Iron Ore Market - Weekly average spot prices for 62% iron ore (CFR China) continued to climb in August and reached new highs during the month on stimulus-driven strength in Chinese demand. According to the Platts Iron Ore Index, the weekly average spot price reached US$126.67/dry metric ton the week of 21 August, the highest it's been since late 2013 and early 2014 (Fig. 15).
