Refning margins in the US midcontinent widened last week as regional products prices hit one-month highs, outpacing a similar spike in crude. The value of the Western Canadian Select (WCS) 6-3-2-1 crack spread averaged $22.5/bl last week, $1.23/bl above the previous week. Margins peaked at $22.61/bl 2 July on the back of a $2.78/bl drop in the price of WCS.
