Japan's aluminium imports mixed in June

Japan's primary aluminium imports were mixed in June, as unalloyed receipts increased while alloyed deliveries declined, data from the Japanese Aluminium Association (JAA) show. Japan's imports of unalloyed primary aluminium rose by 12pc to 158,700t in June compared with 141,800t a year earlier. But the country's take of primary alloyed aluminium such as billet, slab and wire rod decreased by 18pc to 94,420t from 115,600t over the same period. Japan's overall production of extrusions fell by 2.5pc on the year to 67,100t in June, while flat-rolled products output was down by 5.1pc at 109,900t.
