Rail shipments of petroleum coke for export from Russia fell by 18pc on the year to 909,800t in January-September because of stronger domestic demand. A further drop is expected in the fourth quarter because of reduced Russian output during refnery maintenance. The delayed coker at Gazpromneft’s 430,000 b/d Omsk plant was shut down for three months of maintenance in September, and Lukoil shut down the delayed coking unit at its 290,000 b/d Volgograd refnery last month, although market participants say it is back on line.
