Mexico’s Cadereyta refnery to get $259mn

Mexico’s president-elect Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador pledged to invest Ps5bn ($259mn) in the 275,000 b/d Ca-dereyta refnery as part of his plan to overhaul the country’s struggling refning sector. The investment would be part of a $2.5bn program for the overall maintenance of the country’s six refneries. Lopez Obrador made the pledge in the northeastern state of Nuevo Leon last weekend as part of a tour of the country before his 1 December inauguration.
