Crude prices could reach $100/bl in the near term as a result of US sanctions on Iran and the collapse of production in Venezuela, Total chief executive Patrick Pouyanné said. “We are in the world where geopolitics dominate the oil price again,” Pouyanné said at a discussion hosted by Washington- based think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies. “I would not be surprised to see $100/bl in the coming months, because clearly you will have some impacts.”
