Brazil’s aluminium output falls in March

Brazil’s aluminium output decreased marginally in March, the third consecutive month of decline. Brazil’s primary aluminium production was down by 0.6pc at 67,800t compared with 68,200t in March 2017. Production in January-March declined by 1.2pc to 195,100t compared with 197,400t in the frst quarter of 2017. Output is likely to fall more sharply in April because of Norwegian aluminium producer Norsk Hydro halving production at its Albras aluminium smelter.
