The US-based Aluminum Extrusion Fair Trade Committee fled a petition last week with the US Commerce Department requesting an investigation into imports of extrusions from Vietnam-based Global Vietnam Aluminum. The group alleges that Global Vietnam Aluminum, an afli- ate of China Zhongwang Holdings, received aluminium pallets made of extrusions from the US which were owned by Zhong- wang. The committee alleges that the company then remelted the pallets in order to send them back to the US for sale in an efort to dodge antidumping duties on extrusions from China passed in 2011 and reafrmed in 2017.
