Blackjewel, Javelin, Uniper form coal venture

Blackjewel has formed a joint venture with Javelin Global Commodities and Uniper Global Commodities to trade its US thermal and metallurgical coal. The companies did not provide financial terms of their agreement. Javelin will manage the joint venture — Blackjewel Marketing and Sales Holdings — and handle Blackjewel’s US thermal coal sales as well as all of its coking coal business. European power and energy company Uniper will be the exclusive marketer for Blackjewel’s steam coal exports.
