India’s BPCL cuts spending plans, fuel sales drop

Indian state-controlled refiner Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) has cut its spending plans and reported lower transport fuel sales this month, as the country’s Covid-19 outbreak continues to worsen. BPCL has cut its planned spending in the April 2020-March 2021 financial year by about 35pc to 80bn rupees ($1.1bn) from its original target of Rs125bn, refecting the impact of Covid-19.
