Brazil receives first Sabine Pass LNG cargo

The first commissioning cargo from US firm Cheniere Energy’s 25mn t/yr Sabine Pass LNG export facility was delivered to Brazil’s 8.8mn t/yr Guanabara Bay LNG import terminal by the 160,000m3 Asia Vision yesterday. The vessel left Sabine Pass on 25 February. Cheniere will load six to eight commissioning cargoes from March to April and a large proportion of these are expected to be delivered to Brazil. A second LNG carrier, the 162,000m3 Clean Ocean, has arrived for loading at the Sabine Pass terminal. Cheniere expects to take over the 5mn t/yr train one unit in May from contractor US engineering firm Bechtel.
