A range of South Korean coal-fred plant restrictions and curbs in December-February will have the equivalent impact on fne dust emissions of shutting 9-16 coal-fred units on weekdays and 20-25 units on weekends, the country’s government said. The government plans to shut a number of coal-fred units, suspend operations for maintenance at others and impose an 80pc restriction on output from the remainder of the feet at certain times, but many exact details remain lacking and the overall impact on available coal capacity will depend on actual peak power demand this winter.
