Coal India to supply power plants through auction

India’s biggest coal producer state-controlled Coal India is holding a two-day auction to supply power plants that face a scarcity of the fuel or lack supply contracts. CIL will conduct the online auctions on 30-31 March, offering 3mn t. Reserve prices will be set at 10pc above the notified price of coal for power and non-power users, applicable to coal with heating value of 5,500-5,800kcal/kg and below.
