WODGINA (INC. MT DOVE)

Wodgina is a 5.5Mtpa DSO haematite fines mine in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It is owned by Atlas IronLimited who also operate the Abydos and Mount Webber DSO haematite mines in the same area. The mines supply orefor a 57% Fe sinter fines blend exported through Port Hedland.In early 2015, falling iron ore prices reduced Atlas's cash operating margins to the extent that in April it closed Abydos,Wodgina and Mt Webber. Following its own cost reduction efforts and negotiation of a two-year term cost and revenuesharing agreement with its contractors, which is designed to achieve a break even cost around US$50/t (62% Fe FinesCFR China basis), Atlas resumed operations in May 2015. Its cost reductions were based on achieving a production rateof 14–15Mtpa.Wodgina is essential to maintain this production level but the company has announced that it will cease production in FY2017, unless new Ore Reserves are proven up.
