Iron ore spot prices rose across the board in the first half of February, making small gains on December's monthlyaverage. The 62% spot price rose to US$73.88/t, up from December's average of US$69.76/t.Price spreads have continued to shrink gradually, in part due to lowered profit margins and a market overshadowed byoversupply. Prices are still expected to recover in the short term with steel curtailments in China and the eventualresolution of trade tensions.
