Applications of Software Wrapping Technique in Seismic Collapse Analyses

摘要

Seismic collapse analysis of steel structure based on Incremental Dynamic Analysis (IDA) requires high automation of analysis method, The paper introduced a software wrapping technique, among which the key skills is that the main control program takes advantage of SYSTEMQQ command to send DOS commands to launch ANSYS and LS-DYNA software in turn to finish modeling, solution, and postprocessing work, further more, determines the next action according to the result of last analysis and beforehand chosen collapse criterion. As a result, the tedious tasks of switching and scaling earthquake waves and capturing collapse point become automated so that collapse analysis based on IDA can be easily performed.
