摘要

This study deals with trial of improvement of chip processing in turning with laser heat treatment. Partly heat treatment of carbon steel 1045 was carried out with Semiconductor laser which could be transmitted through an optical fiber. Plane carbon steel 1045 were used as work piece. In turning these partly laser heat threatened carbon steels, the chip form were showed regular curl as a resulting improved chip breakability compare with non-laser treated carbon steel. The tool wear was almost the same.
