We designed and implemented power source conveyors for a high-performance instrumentation amplifier called a correction supply. The characteristics of the power source include a variable frequency at both heavy and medium or light loads. These characteristics match the working requirement of the correction supply. The dc power source has a relaxation oscillator that generates a symmetric triangular waveform, to which the switching of a MOSFET is locked. The frequency of this waveform is related to a current that becomes modulated by the feedback circuitry. As a result, the tank circuit driven by a half-bridge is stimulated at a frequency dictated by the feedback loop to maintain the output voltage regulated, thus exploiting its transfer characteristics dependent on frequency. The high-performance characteristics of the resonant dc power source are described in this paper.
