In her book,’HATE:Why We Should Resist It with Free Speech,Not Censorship,’former and first female president of the ACLU,Nadine Strossen discusses her views on hate speech and her opinion that we should resist hate speech with free speech rather than censorship.One of her main points is that hate speech laws violate free speech laws.There are only a limited number of cases where speech is regulated because the Supreme Court has ruled that a mere unfavorable message does not justify regulating or censoring that speech.Strossen also brings up the censorship of speech on college campuses and why there ought to be less censorship,not more.
