摘要

An important step in steel-concrete composite beam design is the design of proper stud connectors. To provide a practical design procedure for the use of stud connectors in composite beams under combined flexure and torsion, the straight steel-concrete composite beam was assumed equivalent to the curved arc beam, based on reasonable assumptions. The calculation equations of the ultimate horizontal shear and vertical (axial) forces for the connectors under torque were provided. A design procedure for stud connectors in composite beams was developed after theoretical analysis. An actual steel-concrete composite beam was then designed as an example. Finally, the errors between the design procedure, taking account of torsion and the current National Standard, were compared. The design procedure proposed in this paper is rational and also convenient for practical applications.
