摘要

Although fertility decreases with age, particularly after 35, GPs need to be able to give contraceptive advice until the menopause to reduce unplanned pregnancies and avoid the pregnancy and foetal risks associated with pregnancy in older women. This article focuses on contraceptive methods and any age-related issues, how to determine the menopause and when to safely stop contraception; difficult with menopause-masking methods.
