The U.S. and the European Union are making strides toward a resolution of key trade differences, EU officials said this week. The Trump administration has been working to reach a trade agreement with the EU since 2018, threatening to impose tariffs on autos if an agreement is not struck. The EU has refused to address agricultural goods in the negotiations, which administration officials and U.S. lawmakers say is a must. Further straining the relationship, the U.S. intends to raise tariffs on Airbus planes on March 18 as part of a longstanding World Trade Organization dispute.
