The market for wet bulk foundry grade chromite ticked up over the past week while dried, bagged and chemical-grade prices remained flat on inconsistent demand patterns, Fastmarkets heard on September 30. Fastmarkets assessed the price of chromite, foundry, 46% Cr2O3 min, wet bulk, fob South Africa at $190-215 per tonne on Tuesday September 30, from $190-210 per tonne a week earlier. The top end of the price range moved up on a deal concluded above last week’s range. Concurrently, the low end held at $190 per tonne while material was offered around that level, which sources still deem as achievable in the market.
