Cloud Manufacturing As a Sustainable Process in Manufacturing Sector in Present Era: A Comprehensive Review

Cloud Manufacturing (CM) is an emerging service-oriented business model to share manufacturing competencies and available resources on a cloud platform. Manufacturing is tending to achieve minimisation of the cost and also reduction in environmental impact, as manufacturing becomes more integrated and complex in present era. Cloud manufacturing gives a remedy, as it is capable in construction of complex intelligent decisions to provide the furthermost sustainable and vigorous manufacturing route available. However, CM research has advanced, a consensus is still lacking on the concepts within CM as well as applications and scope beyond separate manufacturing. The aim of this research paper is to give a platform to demonstrate how CM offers a more sustainable manufacturing future to the industry as a whole, before emphasising specifically on the application to process manufacturing (eg industrial and domestic applications). This paper gives specific definitions, attributes, architectures and present industrial case studies on CM. From this, the basic aspects of the CM concept are identified, along with an analysis of how the concept has progressed. A novel, comprehensive CM model has suggested drawing an attention for further scope.
