A field experiment was conducted for two seasons during 2015-2017 on efficacy ofFlubendiamide 24 + Thiacloprid 24 SC against major insect pests of blackgram. Three different doses of the said new insecticide were applied to find out its right requiredquantity to manage the insects of blackgram. Other treatments were two different doses of flubendiamide 39.35 SC, single dose of each for thiacloprid 21.7 SC, chlorantraniliprole 18.5 SC and quinalphos 25 EC and untreated control. The caterpillar pestslike Spilosoma obliqua, Spodoptera litura and Maruca testulalis and the sucking pest complex including Bemisia tabaci, Empoasca kerri and Megalurothrips usitatus were appeared as the major damaging pests of blackgram. It was revealed that two round spraying of flubendiamide 24% + thiacloprid 24% SC @ 200 and 250 ml/ha at 15 - 20 days interval, were almost equally effective to reduce the mentioned caterpillar and sucking pest complex. Its lowest dose (@150 ml/ha) was also very much responsive as comparedto other treatments. But considering highest yield and lowest pod damage per cent, flubendiamide 24%> + thiacloprid 24% SC @ 200 ml/ha could be recommended in farmers'fields for managing insect pests problem in blackgram. In addition, no phytotoxicity symptoms were observed even at the highest doses offlubendiamide 24% + thiacloprid 24%, SC @ 1000 ml/ ha. The negligible detrimental effect of natural enemies fauna were also recorded, which indicated that the product was comparatively safe to use in blackgram.
